Amazon Has 2 New Buns in the Oven

If the anticipation over midterm election results isn’t enough to have you on the edge of your seat, there is another pending announcement in the air: Amazon’s final decision for a “second headquarters” location. The latest news is that the site will be not one but two sites – and one potential contender is rumored to be Crystal City, VA. This news departs from the initial narrative wherein Amazon stated the intent to invest approximately $5 billion as well as add 50,000 new jobs into a single new second headquarters (formerly known as Amazon HQ2 – and recently coined by the media as HQ3).

In January, Amazon released a list of 20 cities it was potentially considering; contenders included Atlanta, Miami and Nashville. Amazon is currently headquartered in Seattle. No sooner was the information released than responses of concerns over higher property prices and congested traffic along with other strains on infrastructure concerns began buzzing according to CNBC Tech writer, Lauren Feiner in her piece, “Crystal City locals expect surging property prices, heavy traffic and lots of jobs if Amazon comes.”
